Fresno County Fire Station 71

 The Parlier Station got it’s start in 1948 next to the old City Hall on Tulare Street. It was staffed year-round with an Engine manned entirely by volunteers.  On July 1st, 1994, Parlier joined the Fresno County Fire Protection District, and a new station was constructed on Parlier Ave. Originally it was known as Station 1, followed by 41, and is now Station 71. The station was staffed with full time CAL FIRE personnel in 2010 for part of the year as part of a trial period for the City of Parlier. At the end of the year, it was returned to a volunteer staffed station, until December 27th, 2021, where it was once again staffed by full-time CAL FIRE Employees through an cooperative agreement with the City of Parlier and the Fire District. Today there is an Engine and a Patrol protecting the City of Parlier.

Fresno County Fire Station 82

The original Fowler Station 2 was moved in the 1980’s to its current location at E. American Avenue at South McCall Avenue. Today, Station 82 sits centrally within Fresno County Fire Protection District, where it serves the small community of Del Rey. The station houses eight personnel that operate an engine, water tender, breathing support and bulldozer. Due to the station’s central location, it also assists through cooperative agreements neighboring agencies, City of Sanger FD, The City of Fowler and City of Selma FD. Station 82 has a wide variety of responsibilities that contribute to everyday functions of the district. Personnel manage the Fire Equipment and SCBA inventories as well as support most logistical needs.

The original Selma / Conejo Station was located at Conejo Avenue & Peach Avenue around 1955 and remained there until 1957 when the station was moved to 14268 S. Van Horn. This was just west of Highway 99 & south of Mountain View Ave. The station remained there until around 1970 when the current facility was built on the north east corner of Mountain View Avenue and Indianola Avenue, east of Highway 99 (shown above).  Station 83 currently protects approximately protects 139 square miles (88,960 square acers).  Station 83 provides Automatic Aid for the cities of Parlier, Reedley, Selma, Kingsburg and Laton.

 Sanger Station 84 is located in the heart of the Central Valley in the Fresno-Kings Unit.  It has been the backbone of the Fresno-Kings Unit since it was built at the Fresno fairgrounds in the 1930’s.  It was then relocated to its current location at 210 South Academy Avenue in 1951 and is now the headquarters facility of the Fresno-Kings Unit.  This facility is home to all our administrative staff, including the Unit Chief, Operations Chiefs, Division Chiefs, as well as Finance and Personnel staff.  Also at this facility is the supply warehouse, Type One Engine, Type three Engine, CAL FIRE Dozer and in the summertime a “Call When Needed” contract helicopter that was reinstated in 2021.  Sanger Station 84 has a broad response area that extends through the City of Sanger, from the Eastern edge of Fresno City, to just South of Clovis City, and West of Piedra and Squaw Valley areas.  Both the County Engine and State Engine respond to their respective areas providing year-round fire protection and emergency services to the residents of Fresno County and throughout the State of California.
