Fire Chief, Keith Larkin 

Chief Larkin began his fire service career in 1974 as a seasonal firefighter with the California Department of Forestry (CAL FIRE).  Over the last 33 years he has held assignments in 5 CAL FIRE Units throughout Northern California and worked his way up through the ranks to his current position as Unit Chief for CAL Fire Fresno-Kings Unit and Fire Chief for Fresno County Fire Protection District.

Prior to accepting his current position in Fresno, Chief Larkin served as the CAL FIRE Department Training Chief and was in charge of the training for 6000 Department employees as well as the Department's Training Academy in Ione, CA.  Other assignments have included managing Northern Division Operations in the CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit, managing Vallecito Conservation Camp (a 110 man inmate camp), managing Training Programs for CAL FIRE and the Office of State Fire Marshall, serving on CAL FIRE Incident Command Teams, serving as OES Operational Area Coordinator for both Calaveras and Fresno Counties, and has served on numerous National, State and Local fire service committees.

Chief Larkin's vision for the Fresno-Kings Unit and Fresno County Fire Protection District is to provide the highest level of service to the citizens of Fresno County through the professional abilities of our employees, efficient and cost effective programs, innovative ideas and methods, technological improvements, and continuous development of cooperative relationships.  Chief Larkin often comments that "Together We Are Stronger".
